It depends on the style of the bonsai and its species. For example, formal upright bonsai (chokkan) usually grow in rectangular pots, while cascading styles require deeper pots. It also depends on whether the tree is deciduous or evergreen. In our shop, you can find pots tailored to each type.

Yes, all our pots are designed with drainage holes. Excess water is one of the main enemies of bonsai, so each pot ensures proper drainage and also includes holes for wiring when necessary.

Technically yes, but it's not recommended. Bonsai pots are designed with a balance between depth, aesthetics, and functionality. Using a conventional pot can affect drainage, root oxygenation, and the tree's stability.
🇯🇵 4. What is the difference between a Japanese and a Chinese flowerpot?
Japanese pots stand out for their quality, sober glazes, and artisanal craftsmanship. Chinese pots, although also high-quality, tend to be more commercial and of inferior quality. Both are valid, but Japanese pots are preferred by collectors and bonsai purists.

We recommend cleaning them with warm water and a soft brush after each repotting. Avoid harsh chemicals. If there's limescale buildup, you can use Kaneshin gum. Keeping the pot clean improves both the tree's health and its aesthetics.

Generally, every 2 to 3 years, depending on the tree's growth and the condition of the substrate. Changing the pot doesn't always mean changing the design: it can be the same model, but with a new size or depth.

🚚 8. What happens if my pot arrives broken?
Don't worry! All of our pots are packaged with maximum protection, but if any damage occurs during shipping, we'll fix it free of charge. You can contact us with a photo of the broken product, and we'll send you a replacement.
