Below, we leave you a list of the Gardens where you can see interesting collections of bonsai:

  • Alcobendas Bonsai Museum. (Madrid)

In the Alcobendas bonsai museum we can find the Luis Vallejo collection, considered one of the best collections outside of Japan, accumulating numerous international awards.

In its garden we can find around 200 trees, some of them designed by prestigious masters such as Hiroshi Takeyama, Masahiko Kimura, Shinji Suzuki, Saburo Kato.

In addition to bonsai trees, we can find a central pond inhabited by koi carp, accompanied by exceptional landscape architecture.

  • Royal botanical garden of Madrid. (Madrid)

Bonsai collection donated by former president Felipe Gonzalez in 1996, displayed on the Terraza de los Laureles located in the eastern area of the garden.

It is currently considered the most important collection of bonsai of native species, where we can find wild olive, cork oak, boxwood, holm oak, yew, black and sessile juniper, beech, mastic, hawthorn and elm among others.

In addition, we can find numerous trees donated to the former president from other parts of the world and worked by prominent Japanese masters such as Saburo Kato and Kimura.

  • Barcelona Botanical Garden. (Barcelona)

The collection exhibited in the botanical garden of Barcelona has its origins in the donation of the Pere Duran i Farell family, where we can currently find 80 trees belonging to said collection.

Over time, the garden has expanded the collection to a total of 342 trees, of which 36 can be found on display.

  • Parla Bonsai Museum. (Madrid)

Just 30km from the center of Madrid we can find this splendid space with more than 30 trees on permanent display managed by the Friends of Bonsai Association of Parla.

The garden has a total area of more than 7,500 square meters, of which 400 are dedicated to the bonsai museum where we can also find a greenhouse where tropical species are located.

In addition, we can enjoy various activities such as workshops and exhibitions.

  • Botanical garden of Córdoba. (Cordova)

Within the Miniature Forest, Miniature Mediterranean Landscape area we can find a small collection of bonsai trees in which native species predominate.

The collection is located in an environment that is reminiscent of the Mediterranean landscape with endemic species attached to rock formations.

  • Villagonzalo Pedernales Bonsai Museum (Burgos)

Bonsai museum that was created by the Burgos bonsai cultural association in 2008, has an area of 400 meters divided into 3 areas, an exhibition hall, a greenhouse room and work workshops and an educational workshop area.

In the museum we can find about 60 bonsai trees, numerous suisekis and a wide variety of kusamonos.
