Very peculiar pot with a strainer shape and a large drainage hole. Having perforated walls provides extra aeration to the roots which will stimulate their rapid growth. On the other hand, since there is so much aeration, we must water abundantly to prevent the substrate from drying out too much.

Strainer technique in bonsai

The strainer technique to accelerate the growth of our bonsai is widely known, but it is not enough to place our tree in a pot with aeration, we will need to accompany it with optimal cultivation to obtain good results.

We will need to water more frequently than in a normal pot and make an extra contribution of fertilizer since by continuously watering the substrate is continually washed and remains clean of fertilizer.
